I just want to share these cool paintings by a Russian-Israeli woman of Soviet childhood with you. Enjoy!

Here’s the translation of the blurb at the beginning of the gallery (click the title to view the gallery):

Soviet Childhood in the Sincere Paintings of an Artist from Israel

Zoya Cherkasskaya came to Israel from Kiev at age 15. It was in that country that she became a famous artist with her own recognizable style. It may be that her photos are rather naive in their renderings, but they’re extremely deep in meaning. They transport the viewer to familiar realities of his own life, to familiar stories that could have been written from the memories of any of us.
